Account Deletion

Method 1 — From the app

1. Open the TutorAide app on your device.
2. Sign in to your account.
3. Go to the Profile tab.
4. Select Account settings.
5. Tap Delete my account.
6. Confirm the request. You will receive a confirmation email with the scheduled permanent-deletion date.

Method 2 — By email

If you no longer have access to the app (uninstalled, lost device, etc.), email a request to:

Please include: the email address associated with your account, your full name, and a clear statement that this is an account-deletion request. We will verify your identity before proceeding. You will receive a response within 5 business days.

30-day grace period

Once your request is submitted, your account is immediately deactivated (you can no longer sign in), but data is not erased until 30 days have passed. During this period you can cancel the request by contacting [email protected].

After 30 days, deletion is permanent and irreversible.

Data permanently deleted

• User profile (name, email, phone, address, profile picture)
• Dependant information (children / students) associated with your account
• Authentication credentials (password, biometric tokens, session tokens)
• Personal preferences and app settings
• In-app messages
• Profile picture and uploaded documents
• Tutor Social Insurance Number (SIN — encrypted, deleted immediately)
• Tutor banking information

Data retained (legal obligations)

Some data must be kept under accounting, tax, or legal obligations. It is anonymized whenever possible.

• Invoices and payment history — kept for 7 years (Quebec Taxation Act and federal Income Tax Act)
• T4A tax slips (tutors only) — kept for 7 years (Canada Revenue Agency)
• Tutoring session history — retained in anonymized form for internal statistics
• Security logs (sign-ins, access attempts) — kept for 12 months
